Want to learn more about our church? Here are some general frequently asked questions to get you started.
St. John is a melding of the traditional and contemporary. True to our inclusive nature, St. John follows a Both/And approach that proclaims, “Both the traditional and the contemporary can embrace each other.” St. John is neither stuck in the past nor driven by the latest cultural fad. We leverage whatever techniques will help people connect with God and with one another. We strive to help people live a better life, achieving what we term “holistic wellbeing” in reference to health in mind, body and spirit.
Not at all! Reverend Larry Hoxey engages his audience in a way that delivers a coherent, powerful message in a modest twenty to thirty-minute framework. Reverend Larry shares spiritual insights and presents moral and biblical truths in a manner that inspires listeners to successfully engage life’s challenges.
Reverend Larry does a superb job at presenting either a more formal and traditional persona or a dramatically more energetic, animated character. Effective ministry is more than parading around in a robe reciting the liturgy. We realize that it is far more important to meet the audience at a higher level, at the point where humanity overcomes all barriers and pretenses. Reverend Larry’s style demonstrates how St. John is agile and adaptive, ready to do whatever it takes to help you engage a victorious life.
Alongside our main blended service 10:30 – 11:30 am Sundays, St. John has three forms of the transformative Renew Ministry. All three of the Renew gatherings are intended to address religious and spiritual issues in a more engaging, informal atmosphere of sharing and caring.
Come as you are! We realize that the old model of wearing suits and ties to church every Sunday isn’t for everyone. Nowadays, people are absolutely welcome in more casual attire. The point isn’t how you look but the positive attitude you bring and your receptivity to God’s Spirit.
